My purpose is to live an authentic life and to inspire, empower, and support others in their process to do the same. My best friend from high school and I made a pact that we would never settle for less in life and relationships. We called it the Guadalajara pact after the Mexican restaurant where the pact was made. We knew at that time that we wanted to grow up to be women who lived our dreams and followed our hearts desire.
I grew up in Las Vegas and was the oldest of three children. My parents divorced when I was 13. Like all experiences, this had its challenges and opportunities. I have more extended family now and forged an extremely close relationship with my brother and sister during that period. It also motivated me to cultivate a strong marriage and family. My husband, Dan, and I have been married for 11 years and have successfully navigated many transitions together. We relocated from Las Vegas to Lexington, KY, in 1999 and decided to make Lexington our home.
In 2001, just 10 days after 9/11, my brother Matt passed away unexpectedly at the age of 27. As I struggled to make sense of this experience over the next few years, I vowed to live each day in gratitude for the things he no longer has access to — the simple things we take for granted until they are gone. When I think of him, I always renew my promise to slow down and be grateful for what is.
One of the blessings I am most grateful for is motherhood. Dan and I are sharing our adventure with two amazing children, Addison and Jack. They keep us grounded and remind us daily of the simple pleasures and complexities of life.
When I need to rejuvenate from the demands of balancing motherhood and career, I enjoy reading, tennis, and connecting with friends. One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is running the Columbus Marathon in 2005. What I learned from that experience is everything is possible if you are willing to take the daily actions necessary to get you there and then release the results. As I crossed the finish line surrounded by my family and friends, I felt an overwhelming sense of empowerment.
Being a life long learner eventually led me to my first career as a teacher. I taught second grade for six years and most enjoyed my time working in a team teaching environment. I thrive in a collaborative setting and enjoy the synergy that comes from creating together. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and later earned a Master of Education degree in Curriculum Development and Creative Arts from Lesley University. During that time, I received the Harvey Dondero Teacher of the Year award and also had the opportunity to train and mentor student teachers.
Eventually, I left teaching to fulfill my dream of being a stay-at-home mother. I approached this as I would any other job and found it to be the most demanding of all. While I embraced this new role, I had a strong desire to start my own business. I grew up watching my mother and stepfather build a custom real estate software company and was inspired by the possibilities of business ownership. I went back to work while my husband launched a healthcare technology company and during this transition hired a coach. Currently, I work for a training and change management company, Software Training Experts, as a consultant and coach. I graduated from Coach University in May, 2009 and founded iMprint, LLC with the mission of helping others leave a meaningful imprint on our world. I value innovative thinking, hard work, and inner peace. I am good at blending the big picture with the daily steps necessary to bring a vision to fruition.
I work primarily with individuals and organizations that are in transition and small business owners (or those who want to be). I am passionate about helping them achieve their goals and dreams while keeping their values in alignment with their vision. I am intuitive, practical, and naturally inquisitive – traits that enable me to get a quick sense of who people are and how to bring out their best.
